Our third goal is making the outdoors accessible for more people. So to continue to support this we will be hosting a few free hikes on Fridays each year! The hikes will help different groups of people get outdoors who traditionally have not had the same access to nature. Each of the hikes will also cover a specific topic in addition to being geared for a certain group of people. So check out the links below to sign up for upcoming Free Hike Friday programs as well as some frequently asked questions and a link to the program waiver! The ability to run these programs is funded by 50% of the profits we receive from our art sales across all the different platforms we sell our art on as well as the commissions we do each year. Currently, 50% of 2023 art sales is going into a fund to support this program as well as some other free classes we will be offering in 2024!
When open to the public for registration Free Hikes will be listed below. If you run a nonprofit that focuses on people who have trouble accessing outdoor spaces and would like to partner for a Free Hike Friday Program for your group please contact us at ecoelsallc@gmail.com now through December 15th, 2023 to inquire about Free Hike Friday availability now (10/1/23) through August 31st, 2024. What happens if there are only a few spots left and I still have a few more people to sign up from my group?
You can email us as ecoelsallc@gmail.com to see if the class is flexible enough to add on 1-3 more people. Please keep in mind that this might not always be possible depending on the program and how many people over all are signed up.
When are new programs posted?
New programs available will be posted as soon as we know but typically will be posted at least 1 month before the program will take place.
Can I request a hike topic or park for future Free Hike Fridays?
Yes! We love receiving input on what topics would interest you and what parks you would like us to come to. We want to help reach all different communities! You can request a program on our contact page just let us know that it is for a Free Hike Program.
When would a program be canceled & when would you notify me?
A program would be cancelled in the event the weather conditions would be unsafe for participants and instructors. We also will consider driving conditions when making this decision. You would be notified via email at least 24 hours in advance.
Would you reschedule a program after it has been canceled?
Depending on educator availability we may reschedule canceled programs for the next month. Priority registration would be given to participants who were already registered for the canceled program and then more spaces opened up if there was still room.
Is there a waiver for these programs?
Yes! By registering for the program you agree to the Free Hike Friday Program Waiver.
