Our preschool classes focus on helping preschoolers connect to nature while also preparing for school. All classes have activities for multiple learning styles as well as the opportunity to practice different developmental skills like fine & gross motor, social, emotional, communication, and more!
Below the classes are marked with which ages they are best for as well as if it is location specific or can be taught pretty much anywhere. All classes can be adjusted for different ages or to shift secondary topic focuses to better fit the needs or goals of the group. Wildlife & EcoSystems
Animal Life Cycles: Kids will learn about the amazing transformations wildlife goes through from baby to adult. They will learn this through games, activities, and more! Best for kids ages 3 – 6.
Animal Superheroes: Animals have all kinds of special abilities that help them survive as predators and prey. Tons of fun activities and games to pick from that help kids learn about different animal’s superpowers that help them survive. Mini lessons to pick from include Speed, Strength, Flight, Pollinator Powers, Vision, and Camouflage. Best for kids ages 3 – 7 can be taught anywhere there is enough space.
Little Nature Explorers: Join EcoElsa to explore through nature learning about the plants and animals that call it home. We will do a wide variety of outdoor activities that are great for preschoolers to get their minds and bodies moving! Some topics may include comparing habitats, catching different insects & amphibians, plants & trees, living and nonliving, and more! Best for kids ages 3 – 6.
Worms & Mud: In this class your kids will learn all about some of the earliest signs that spring is on the way! Class includes a variety of fun activities that engages littles to be active and creative while exploring the world of decomposition. Best for kids ages 3 – 6.
STEAM Classes
Leaf Science & Art: Bring your preschooler to this fun class with science and art activities all around fall leaves. Kids and parents will learn together how to use leaves for science experiments and art projects. This class is full of great family fun while also learning about fall and why leaves change colors! Best for kids ages 3 to 6
Nature 123’s: Use the outdoors to help your littles learn their numbers and counting! Offers a wide variety of activities and games that can incorporate other subjects and topics into the learning. Best for kids ages 3 – 6 better taught outdoors but can be taught inside as well.
Preschool Snow Day: Learn about snow and winter through a variety of engaging activities and games for early learners. These are also activities that adults will be able to continue to do at home with the kids so they can get outdoors all winter long! We will be building with snow, playing games with snow, making snow art, and doing snow science. Best for kids ages 3 to 6 and can be taught anywhere there is space available.
Physical Education
Little Nature Explorer Games: In this preschool class we will be doing all the nature games and activities to help you and your kids stay active outdoors this summer. We will be doing trail games to help keep littles entertained and learning while on hikes and exploration activities and games great for any backyard or park!
Reading & Writing
Nature ABCs: Come on a hike with EcoElsa to learn the Alphabet while learning about nature. Kids will get to do hiking games and activities that help them learn their ABCs, motor skills, and more! Best for kids ages 3 – 6.
Service Learning Project Facilitation
Service learning projects are a great way for kids to learn while doing something that helps improve their community and the habitat around them. This is for sure multi session classes to help kids pick a topic, plan a solution, and carry it out. As well as helping with applying for grants or other paperwork that needs to be done. Some of the typical projects include pollinator gardens, rain gardens, and improving habitats for wildlife. Ages 5 and up can do it but best for kids ages 8 through 18 years old need a mixture of indoor and outdoor space depending on the projects.
