Outdoor Programs

EcoElsa programs can be grouped into two categories: Nature Tours and Outdoor Classes. Both seek to engage people in enjoying and learning about the outdoors but do it in different ways. All EcoElsa programs are tailored to fit the needs of the group and can be adjusted for different ages, types of learners, and to help make the outdoors more accessible and fun for all! As well as I am mobile so most programs can be taught at a park near you as long as the correct resources are available!

Nature Tours

Nature Tours are mostly a combination of walking and talking where clients get to enjoy a hike in nature while learning about a topic. It may include a game or activities along the way and can be geared more towards kids, families, or adults. Some of the tours we offer are an ethnobotany hike on the history of plant use, climate change, Dakota History, birding, and more! Check out the Nature Tours page to learn more!

Outdoor Classes

Outdoor classes are more formal education programs that seek to teach people a specific topic or skill while also meeting learning goals. EcoElsa outdoor classes are cross curricular and try to meet multiple education standards and types of learners while also being fun and connecting people to nature. The classes will include activities like exploration, games, field studies, building/engineering, writing, math, art, free play, reading, discussions, and so much more. What is selected is based on what fits the goals, topic, and the requests of the clients/parents of clients. A typical 1 hour class will include a game and exploration activity, and potentially one other activity if something specific is requested. EcoElsa classes can even include hikes depending on the amount of time and topic of the class. Outdoor classes are also usually more geared toward kids and families but they can be adapted for other groups as well.

EcoElsa offers a wide variety of classes that are organized by the age group they most make sense for but as we have said before can be adapted for other age groups. Check the different classes out on the Classes page or if you know who your target audience is for the class select your age group below!
