Learn about art through nature and science games and activities. Depending on the weather, some of the activity we may do are making sustainable nature sculptures, paint & dye color science, fiber weaving, clay creations, animal footprints and more! Dress for the weather as we will be outside

Ultimate Survival Camp – July 20th to 22nd, 9:30 to 12:30 am – 9 to 13 years old $119 per participant
Learn survival skills through fun games and activities. Leave class knowing a wide variety of outdoor survival skills like the rule of three, how to signal for help, shelter engineering, fire science and safety, treating water, orienteering, and more! Plus at the end of the camp you will have a chance to test all your skills in a survival scenario and graduate from Survival Camp! The skills are not only great for a lost/survival situation but also for camping and outdoor excursions as well as teaching kids’ confidence, self-reliance, teamwork, and problem solving. Make sure to dress for the weather and wear closed toed shoes and long pants as most of the class will be spent outdoors!

Nature STEM Camp – July 20th to 22nd, 1:30 to 4:30 pm – 9 to 13 years old $119 per participant
Learn about biomimicry and the role it plays in current science and research. Scientists and engineers study nature to find solutions to problems we face. Put the STEM/Nature connection and your creativity to work. Study different projectiles found in nature and build a better marshmallow launcher. Find solutions to real world concerns like how to earthquake proof a building, design prosthetic limbs and more. Make sure to dress for the weather and wear closed toed shoes and long pants as parts of this class will be outdoors!

Plant Uses Camp – July 27th to 29th 9:30 am to 12:30 pm – 9 to 13 years old $119 per participant
Join a naturalist from EcoElsa to learn about ethnobotany, the study of plants and their practical uses through the traditional knowledge of a local culture and people. Kids benefit from this cross-curricular study of biology, science, and history to respectfully learn about and from different cultures. We will be covering mostly Indigenous Nations and Europeans while touching on other groups; and how they have used plants for food, medicine, building materials, and for cultural activities throughout history. Engage in a wide variety of activities and creative projects to take them home. Make sure to dress for the weather and wear closed toed shoes and long pants.

Learn about art mediums through nature and connect it to science principles through class activities. Depending on the weather some of the activities may include making sustainable nature sculptures, paint & dye color science, fiber weaving, clay creations, animal footprints, primitive art techniques, and more! Kids benefit from creative expression through art, science, and history. A mixture of indoor and outdoor activities so make sure to dress for the weather and wear closed toed shoes and long pants! Kids will take home most of their creations.

Biologist Explorer Camp – 17020203 August 26th 9 am to 4 pm – 8 to 14 years old $55 per participant
Join a Naturalist from EcoElsa to learn how to conduct different animal surveys and experiments. Kids will learn how to observe different animals and collect data about them and their habitats as well as how to report that data as a “citizen scientist.” Camp will include getting to interact with a wide variety of plants and small wildlife like insects, amphibians, snakes, and birds as well as using different scientist tools to do their research and exploring. Kids will need to bring their own lunch as one will not be provided. Also make sure to dress for the weather closed toed shoes and preferably long pants as most of the class will be spent outdoors!
All participants should dress appropriately for all sorts of outdoor activities. Tennis shoes, bug spray, sunscreen and a refillable water bottle are recommended. Participants should also plan on bringing two snacks and a bag lunch. Please let us know if your child has a peanut allergy.

Plant Uses Class: June 30th 8 am to Noon – 7 to 12 years old $57 per participant
Join naturalist EcoElsa to learn the ways people have used plants throughout history. This class is a combination of biology, science, and history with an emphasis on how to respectfully learn about and from different cultures. We will be covering indigenous nations and Europeans while touching on other groups. Kids learn how these cultures have used plants for food, medicine, building materials and cultural activities throughout history.
Physics of Flight Class: July 1st 8 am to Noon – 7 to 12 years old $57 per participant
Learn all about animals that fly and powered flight through games and activities. We will be doing a wing engineering challenge, migration nation challenge and design your own wings.
Outdoor Survival Camp: August 10th-11th 8:30 am to Noon – 7 to 12 years old $78 per participant
Learn the rules of three, how to signal and look for help, shelter engineering, fire science and safety, how to collect and treat water and basic orienteering skills. Your kids will learn skills through games and activities that will help them learn what to do in a survival situation. Make sure to dress for the weather; wear closed toed shoes and long pants as most of the class will be spent outdoors.
Designed by Nature Camp: August 12th-13th 8 am to Noon – 7 to 12 years old $78 per participant
Scientists and engineers study nature to find solutions to fix the problems we face. In this biomimicry STEM camp we will investigate how to build a better marshmallow launcher by studying how projectiles found in nature work. Then put your problem-solving skills and creativity to the test to find a solution to a variety of challenges like earthquake-proofing buildings, designing prosthetic limbs and more!
Family Campout: August 14th to 15th (Fri to Sat) 6:30 pm to 11:00 am (next day) – All ages! $57 per family
Join EcoElsa for a night of family camping fun at Casperson Park! We will be doing traditional campfire games, songs, and stories and also some night hike games and activities like bat & moth, owl calls and more! Complimentary hot dogs, fixings, s’mores, and campfire bread will be provided. Bring your favorite beverages and other food to enjoy. Arrive at 6:30 p.m. to set up your tent. You will learn the basics of getting your campsite set up, campfire safety and food preparation, as well as games and activities to make memorable camping excursions. Registration is required to ensure we have enough supplies.
